This set is made of high quality “zisha” in red clay originated in south east part of China. The clay is unglazed, suitable for all kinds of tea, particularly oolong, black and pu-er.
How to start and maintain a zisha teapot
1. Handwash with very light unscented dishwashing detergent and hot water. Although detergent is not recommanded by many zisha user, we still mention it here as an hygenic option.
2. Determine the kind of tea you will brew with the teapot, oolong, black, green or pu-er. Brew the chosen kind of tea in the teapot using hot water, let it sit in the pot for 10 minutes, when the pot is less hot and touchable, hold it in hands and polish with palms. This step can be repeated for 2-3 times. Now the teapot is ready to serve.
3. After last serving, pour hot water in the pot, and rinse all teaware with the final brew of tea, dry the serface with soft tea towel. Polish the teapot and serving pot with palms when it is warm. Avoid detergent on teapot and serving pot.
